The decision to extend the Quarantine Curfew was taken during the virtual meeting of the Special Committee on COVID-19 Control chaired by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe lockdown will continue for another seven day period. Recommendations determine that progress will be made via the ongoing Vaccination Drive in the interim to curb the current spike. Please adhere to the regulations, use this time to get vaccinated,\u201d Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella tweeted. A ten-day islandwide quarantine curfew was imposed on August 20 and it was extended till September 6 last week. The Committee, after analyzing the situation, decided to continue the restrictions until September 13.<\/p>\n
