CM-KP will inaugurate Arandu and Dorah Passes in Chitral district in November, Karim Khan
\n PESHAWAR
\nThe government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is all set re-open business routes with Afghanistan as initially it has announced the opening of Arandu and Dorah Passes near Salim Shah area in Chitral district.
\nSpecial Advsior to Chief Minister on Industries Abdul Karim Khan revealed that the move will activate business community on both sides of the border and allowing business on these two crossing will not only generate economic activities in Chitral but also employment opportunities for the local population.
\nBorder crossings Arandu and Dorah Passes will increase the business volume between Pakistan and Afghanistan as well as with the Central Asian Republics (CARs) he added.
\nMr Kareem further said that chief minister Mahmood Khan will formally inaugurate the trading routes on occasion of 4th conference on the industrial development of Chitral on November 12 to 13.
\nOwing to their major links, border crossings Arandu and Dorah play key role in trade with central Asian countries.
\nThe advisor said that during the conference, the government will also announce several uplift projects for the district including the special economic zone in Chitral, the Chitral Chamber of Commerce and the National Bank building.
\nIt is to note here that bad security condition in the region had made business on the routes impossible for both countries.
\nThe traders associated with Pakistan-Afghanistan trade expressed the hope the reopening of the trading routes will user and new era progress and development in Chitral district.
\nThe traders said that Chitral has very important geographical position. The district order Afghanistan\u2019s Kunar, Badakhsan and Nuristan province.
\nAfter the Taliban seized power, Pakistan exports to Afghanistan are on constant decline after the as import orders have been cancelled due to non-availability of funds and closure of country\u2019s construction sector.
