\nThe Two days long sit-in staged by JUI-F workers, civil society and opposition parties\u2019 workers in tribal district Bajaur ended on Tuesday after receiving assurance from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government.
\nA large number of people had been protesting for the last two days against the killing of Mohammad Ilyas who was JUI-F activist and party nominee for the upcoming local government elections.
\nPolice said that Mohammad Ilyas was shot dead by unidentified assailants outside Government High School Khar No.1 at tribal district Bajaur two days ago.
\nAccording to the Rescue 1122 officials, who immediately rushed to the spot after the incident, the 30-year-old activist of JUI-F was seriously wounded in the attack.
\nAccording to details, after successful negotiations the protesters called off the sit-in. The provincial government under the agreement also announced that the killers would be arrested within 10 days and a case under the Terrorism Act will registered.
\nThe KP government also announced a martyrs package for the bereaved family.
\nFormer Governor Shaukatullah Khan, the police and Bajaur district administration officials were among prominent figures who led talks with the protesters.
