Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Gulzar Ahmad has remarked half of Karachi is under occupation and on the other hand the officers continue to warm up their seats while sitting in the offices. <\/p>\n
He further remarked there are good and bad people but unfortunately we have dirty people.<\/p>\n
He gave these remarks while hearing the case pertaining to computerization of land record in Sindh. <\/p>\n
Senior member board of revenue presented progress report before the court in respect of the case.
\nThe court expressed annoyance over it. <\/p>\n
The CJP Gulzar Ahmad remarked half Karachi is under occupation. If we go around the Karachi we will see that illegal constructions are underway . Go and see where the so called motorway has been constructed all is under Illegal occupations therein . These land are not seen along side airport. This is illegal. <\/p>\n
He further observed \u201c you should comply with the orders otherwise the contempt of court proceedings will be initiated and you will go to jail. Your work should be seen to have been done practically. You are telling us stories. Your officers may have given this lollipop to you. Don\u2019t give this to us. You are not a Munshi or Baboo. <\/p>\n
Senior member told the court he takes notice daily. <\/p>\n
The CJP remarked \u201cwe take notice and not you. Nothing will happen even if you write ten letters daily. This is job of your officers. They are collecting extortion money. There are good and bad people but we have dirty people unluckily. <\/p>\n
Justice Qazi Amin remarked \u201c you are conniving with mafia. You are protecting them. Why don\u2019t you send complaint. What are your interests. <\/p>\n
Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan remarked the entire Karachi has been occupied but only 9 cases have been reported. <\/p>\n
Senior member said we are trying and are computerizing the record. We are starting operation against illegal occupation in Korangi. <\/p>\n
The CJP remarked tell us one building which has been built as encroachment and you have demolished it. Now you will say it is SC order therefore, rate will be higher. Now rates will have risen therein. 15 to 20 storyed buildings have been constructed on state land. Buildings have been constructed on super highway, national highway Malir, university road. <\/p>\n
The SC rejected senior member of board of revenue report on retrieving the state land from illegal occupants. <\/p>\n
