\nSpecial Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection, Senator Dr Sania Nishtar on Friday briefed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Parliamentarians on Ehsaas Rashan Riayat Registration.
\nThe meeting took place at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Secretariat.
\nSpeaker KP, Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani, Deputy Speaker KP, Mehmood Jan, Finance and Health Minister KP, Taimur Saleem Jhagra and senior officials of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) were also present in the briefing.
\nSpeaking to the Parliamentarians, Dr Sania urged them to support Ehsaas in province wise registering Kiryana shops and deserving families.
\nShe gave a detailed presentation on the process of registration and operational modalities of the programme.
\n\u201cKiryana merchants can register in the programme through web-portal: https:\/\/ehsaasrashan.pass.gov.pk\/, She added.
\nKaryana merchants operating anywhere in the country need to have a bank account for registration.
\nThose without bank accounts are being facilitated to open their accounts in branches of NBP\u201d, she said.
\nKiryana owners will also earn substantive commission on Ehsaas\u2019 subsidies as an incentive.
\nLucky draws will also be held every three months to give away cars, motorcycles, mobile phones and several other prizes to best performing Kiryana owners.
\nRegarding family registration, Dr Sania briefed, \u201cFamilies with monthly income less than Rs. 50,000 can register either through 8171 or the web-portal with their CNIC and a cell phone number issued on the same.\u201d
\nTo a question, she emphasized that only one member of a family can enroll for Rashan.
\nApplicant families will be sent eligibility messages from 8171 she said.
\nAccording to the new criteria approved by the Cabinet, deserving families of foreign travelers, low-income government employees, and those with high cell phone bills can also enroll in the Rashan programme.
\nParliamentarians lauded the transparency measures hardwired in the programme and ensured full cooperation to create awareness on the execution of programme.
\nThrough Ehsaas Rahsan, 20 million eligible families will avail a subsidy of Rs 1,000 a month on the purchase of wheat flour, cooking oil\/ghee and pulses from designated Karyana stores.
