\nFederal Board of Revenue Chairman Dr Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmed has emphasised on the scope of qualitative performance of officers and officials to promote a culture of efficiency, transparency and integrity within the apex tax body.
\nChairing a detailed meeting held on Wednesday at the FBR headquarters to review the proposals for performance allowance, he issued directives that only those who maintain the highest standards of professional conduct and exhibit outstanding performance should be rewarded, while the laggards and poor performers should not be recommended for the award of performance allowance.
\nAhmed also directed the administration and HR Wing of the FBR to put forth a comprehensive proposal to bring the performance allowance at par with other federal government departments so that the high achievers are duly compensated for their exceptional performance. He also emphasised on the need to promote fairness and merit to encourage the FBR team in maintaining the highest standards of moral integrity and professional conduct.
\nA belt tightening exercise was of paramount importance to make a strong case for the financial and administrative autonomy of the revenue board, he said.
\nMember (Admin\/HR), S A to FBR chairman and chief of FATE also attended the meeting; wherein Aisha Farooq, chief of T&D, gave a detailed presentation on the existing and proposed revised draft of the Performance Allowance Guidelines, 2015.
\nMeanwhile, the FBR on Wednesday notified fresh and revised valuation of immovable properties for various cities of the country to bring the declared prices at par with the fair market value.
\nThe FBR issued valuation and revaluation of immovable properties for 16 cities of the country. These cities included Abbottabad; Attock, Bhawalnagar; Bahawalpur; Chakwal; Toba Tek Singh; D I Khan; Sukkur; Sialkot; Sheikhupura; Sahiwal; Faisalabad; Rawalpindi; Rahim Yar Khan; Quetta; Peshawar; and Norowal.
\nThe FBR started issuing valuation tables in August 2016. Later, it amended the valuation in 2019. The revenue body previously issued valuation tables of a dozen cities.
\nThe aim behind issuing the valuation tables is to promote documentation of the economy. The apex tax body collects withholding tax on the sale and purchase of immovable properties at the notified rates in the valuation tables.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
