\nToday, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Commission on the Status of Women (KPCSW), National Commission on Status of Women and National Commission for Human Rights (NCHR) in Collaboration with Blue Veins a local NGO, organized an event \u201cRole of National Human Rights Institutions in Promoting Girls Education\u201d.
\nThe event was organized in observance of 16 Days of Activism to end gender-based violence, attended by different segments of the society including parliamentarians Govt officials, CSOs and academia.
\nDr. Riffat Sardar Chairperson KPCSW formally welcomed all the Guests of the seminar and said, \u201cGirls\u2019 education is a strategic development priority. Girls must have the opportunity to complete all levels of education acquiring the knowledge and skills to compete in the labor market; learn the socio-emotional and life skills necessary to navigate and adapt to a changing world; make decisions about their own lives, and contribute to their communities and the country.\u201d
\nChief Guest of the event Ms. Kashmala Tariq, the federal ombudsperson for protection against harassment of women at workplace said on the occasion, \u201cThe rights of women and children are fundamental human rights protected by our national Constitution. Gender-based and child violence, in all its different forms, devalues human dignity and the self-worth of the abused person and must be stopped in our society.
\n\u201cThe campaign can only succeed if we stand together to safeguard our society against this cycle of abuse\u201d she added.
\nZulfiqar Ali Shah Secretary of Social Welfare Govt of KP said, \u201cWe are committed to empowering girls and women through education. Every girl in our society must have to be educated because education is the most influential and vital weapon that can be used to solve the difficulties of human lives\u201d.
\nAdditional Deputy Commissioner for Human Rights and Relief Peshawar Mr. Imran Khan said, \u201cGirls\u2019 education strengthens economies and reduces inequality. It contributes to more stable, resilient societies that give all individuals \u2013 including boys and men \u2013 the opportunity to fulfil their potential.\u201d
\nShaheen Quresh President Blue Veins said\u201d A gender-just world cannot be achieved without educating girls in our society.
