In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Kashmiri people are rendering unparalleled sacrifices in their struggle for securing freedom from Indian subjugation. The people of Kashmir would continue their struggle till the presence of a single Indian soldier in the territory. Kashmiris have been constantly facing Indian oppression for the last over seventy four years and this repression had increased since August 5, 2019 when the Modi-led fascist Indian government repealed Kashmir\u2019s special status and imposed military siege in IIOJK. Indian police arrested a youth in Pushkar area of Central Kashmir\u2019s Badgam district. Scores of specially abled persons staged protest demonstrations in Jammu and Srinagar against the authorities for not considering their genuine demands despite giving assurances.
\nProminent Kashmiri human rights activist Khurram Parvez, after spending 12 days under the custody of Indian infamous National Investigation Agency (NIA), has been taken into judicial detention and shifted to notorious Tihar jail in New Delhi. Parvez\u2019s family said that he appeared today before a court, which sent him to judicial custody. Khurram Parvez, who is the coordinator of Jammu and Kashmir Coalition of Civil Society (JKCCS), a Srinagar-based human rights group, was arrested on November 22 by India\u2019s dreaded NIA and was booked under the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and various sections of the Indian Penal Code on fake charges. A day after being arrested Parvez was flown to New Delhi. Meanwhile, regional and international rights bodies and activists continue to react over the arrest of Parvez, demanding his immediate release. The United Nations on Wednesday had expressed concern over the arrest of a prominent Kashmiri rights activist and called for his release.
\nThe whole world is seriously concerned over the plight of illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists lodged in different jails of the territory and India. The Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government is victimizing the Hurriyat leaders for their political beliefs. Non-provision of basic facilities including medical care and hygienic food as per the jail manual has put the life of the Kashmiri prisoners at stake. The United Nations and world human rights organizations should take cognizance of the illegal detention of innocent Kashmiris and impress upon India to release them forthwith. The Indian government is not releasing the unlawfully detained women Hurriyat leaders and activists including Aasiya Andrabi, Fehmeeda Sofi and Naheeda Nasreen despite the fact that they are suffering from various serious ailments. The Modi regime has stepped up its state terrorism in IIOJK to suppress the Kashmiris\u2019 ongoing freedom struggle.
\nMost of the women were suffering from various ailments but were being constantly denied the basic amenities, including healthcare, in the prisons. The human rights defenders should take note of the grave issue and impress upon the Indian authorities to release these prisoners. After the illegal actions taken by Modi-led fascist Indian regime on August 5, 2019 in IIOJK, Indian troops have waged a war against the Kashmiri women, youth, students and children.
