ISLAMABAD : Minister for Science and Technology Shibli Faraz has said Local Bodies (LB) polls can not be held through Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) as EVMs have been made for such elections. <\/p>\n
In a statement issued here Monday he said there are different panels of candidates on different seats in LB polls due to which LB polls can not be held through EVM. <\/p>\n
He remarked only 200 candidates names can be entered in EVM. Machine can be used for the election of Tehsil Nazim. <\/p>\n
He pointed out that election commission has asked us to provide it EVMs. There are two voting pads for national and provincial polls in EVMs. There will be only one control pad in EVM.
