Nation security advisor Government of Pakistan Dr Moeed Yusuf on Wednesday said that the economic bases of the country are opened worldwide.<\/p>\n
While talking to the Hard Talk host Stephen Sackur in an interview with BBC\u201d he responded to various questions pertaining to Pak-US\u201d Pak-China Economic Corridor and other issues.<\/p>\n
He went on to say that there are no Chinese military bases in Gwader. He said that China has its economic bases in city. Moeed mentioned that countries including US\u201d Russia and Middle-east were also offered to establish economic bases. Moeed said that Pakistan is in favor of relations with the United States<\/p>\n
The SAPM told BBC Hard Talk in an interview that China has a long-standing strategic relationship and will continue to do so. He said that US administration is in touch with Pakistan\u201d people of Kashmir are our people\u201d Pakistan has always said that there is no military solution for Afghanistan\u201d Pakistan is again warning about Afghanistan.<\/p>\n
Earlier while giving interview on an American channel\u201d he had said that U.S.-Pakistan relations have improved over the last few years amid the launch of a peace and reconciliation process in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n
However\u201d he had said that U.S. troops drawing down\u201d the future of U.S. relations with Pakistan\u2014which in Washington have long been viewed through the lens of Afghanistan\u2014is uncertain.<\/p>\n
This discussion was with Dr. Moeed Yusuf\u201d Pakistan s national security advisor and special assistant to the prime minister on national security and strategic policy planning. He discussed Islamabad s expectations for U.S.-Pakistan relations in the Joe Biden era\u201d and what the situation in Afghanistan may mean for the relationship moving forward.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe first thing we want to talk about is investment partnerships. This conversation about CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor) is not always positive in Washington\u2014how about an American reprocessing zone? How about American companies coming\u201d investing money\u201d reprocessing for export and sending wherever they want. How about doing things economically where there can be Pakistan-US-China co-investment ?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cCould we look at areas of diplomatic cooperation? Afghanistan is an obvious one\u2014we know that. But it would be tragic if the conversation next week begins on Afghanistan and that\u2019s the only conversation we\u2019re having.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cU.S.-China\u2014a lot of people say\u201d well Pakistan is in one camp or the other\u2014let me just tell you very clearly\u201d we are simply not in inter-camp politics. Not because of this reason or that reason\u2014it simply doesn\u2019t suit us. It doesn\u2019t make sense for us to say I\u2019m with one and not the other. Neither\u201d frankly\u2014the Chinese\u2014ever asked us that\u201d or the U.S. for that matter because ultimately\u201d frankly I think\u201d Pakistan is one of the very few countries that can play a helping role for the U.S. and China on areas where they do converge and want to work together.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cFor us the goal is very simple. We are available to facilitate peace in Afghanistan and ultimately\u201d we don\u2019t want any violence or terrorism in our region. But we can\u2019t be in a situation where Pakistan is seen as the potential solution for all problems and when the solution doesn\u2019t come then Pakistan is seen as the reason for all evils.
