Display of arms would be banned during elections: Dr Shehzad

\nA review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Shehzad Khan Bangash and Inspector General of Police KP Moazzam Jah Ansari regarding the elections to be held on December 19.
\nThe meeting was attended by Secretary Home Department, Secretary Local Government Department, Education Department, Secretaries of Social Welfare and Population Welfare Department, Provincial Election Commissioner, all Divisional Commissioners, Regional Police Officers and other Pak Army officials. Presiding over the meeting, the Chief Secretary told the participants that transparent elections are the top priority in the province and there would be no compromise on making the elections successful in this regard.
\nHe issued instructions to all the divisional and district officers to install cameras on priority basis where sensitive polling stations are being made.
\n He said that display of arms during the election would be banned; therefore all concerned district officers should ensure the prevention of display of arms by imposing section 144. Dr. Shehzad Bangash further said that control rooms should be set up in all districts for smooth monitoring of elections.
\nRescue 1122 personnel and ambulances should be present at the polling stations, on which the Special Secretary Health Department said that control rooms would be set up outside all the polling stations and on the day of election Rescue 1122 ambulances and personnel would be present at the polling stations.
\nDuring the meeting, Inspector General of Police Moazzam Jah Ansari informed the participants that strict security measures have been taken for the polling stations across the province. Strict security should be ensured and no negligence will be tolerated in this regard. He added that suspicious persons or any movement around the polling stations would be closely monitored.
\n He issued strict instructions to the police officers and said that no compromise would be made on the security situation. For elections, Pakistan Army and FC Quick Response Force will be present at the entrances and exits of polling stations and besides, wherever the situation is unfavorable, Pakistan Army and FC will be present.
