Says great achievements are not possible without hard and constant efforts

\nTameen Khan, a very talented and fast athlete of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is hopeful and over-confident on her hard work and practice to brighten Pakistan and KP name at international level in the sports world. She said success would be her destiny because she is always playing with enthusiasm and wining spirit and the result is that she has gotten many medals at national level games in a short span of time. The Asian athletic training camp was very helpful for me wherein I have learnt techniques about different games which polished my talent and gave me more courage, she said.
\n\u201cGreat achievements are not possible without hard and constant efforts, I am always playing with full courage, since childhood I had passion, it is honour for me to become part of the Pakistan squad for international athletics championship to be held in Kazakhstan. I took part in the trails for 2019 national games but could not select in the team, I did not discourage, and from that day onward I made strong promised with myself that I have to become an athlete, said 19 year-old Tameen Khan while talking to this scribe.
\nShe won a gold medal by participating in the National Under-16 Championship held in Peshawar for the first time and after that she won two gold medals by repeating the same feat in the Under-21 Games.
\nShe also won two gold medals in the recently concluded Inter-University Games and proved herself to be an outstanding athlete and made it to the national team for the International Championships in Kazakhstan.
\nShe further said that she used to watch international athletics competitions on TV, so a passion arose in her heart and she promised that by hard and constant endeavor she would get a unique place in the sports, adding at school and college level, she competed in athletics like other sports.
\nMeanwhile, a coach named Zafran Afridi came to the National Stadium and told me that if you want to play more, you can become a better athlete.
\nAll you need is training and fitness. All you have to do is come to the stadium for training on a daily basis and start training with Zafran Afridi at JS Athletics Academy from next day, said young Tameen and added that by the grace of Allah, her fitness had improved and with the continuous training, her game had started to improve day by day and fortunately, she did not face any difficulties at home and continued her game.
\nEver since the PTI government started a program to provide scholarships to sportspersons for the promotion of sports sector in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, I also started holding regular competitions to fulfill my aspirations.
\nParticipated in the provincial event of the Talent Hunt Program U-16 and won gold in the 100 and 200 meters, followed by defending the same title in the National U-16 Athletics Championship held in Peshawar and also won the 100 and 200 meters, she explained her performance.
\nShe maintained that KP government and the then Director General of the Directorate of Sports, Asfandyar Khan Khattak, had encouraged her and took decision to send her abroad for further training.
\nThe young and talented athlete said that due to the efforts of coach Zafran Afridi, the President of Pakistan Athletics Federation General (retd) Muhammad Ikram Sahi gave her an opportunity in the Asian Indoor Training Course held in Lahore where she had gotten an opportunity to learn a lot about this game.
\n\u201c As soon as, I came to Peshawar, I continued my training at JS Academy Qayyum Stadium, as which was affiliated with Punjab University. On the special directive of Prime Minister Imran Khan, under the banner of Higher Education Commission for the youth, Punjab University got the opportunity to play in a major event like Inter-University Sports Gala recently held at Jinnah Sports Complex Islamabad under the name of Successful Youth Drive. Representing Punjab University in the Athletics Championship of these Games, I also won the Gold Medal in the 100 and 200 meters and became the fastest athlete. On which not only the officials of Punjab University but also the officials of Higher Education Commission and especially the Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry gave a warm welcome and gave a check of Rs. 200,000 on excellent performance said Tameen.
\nShe said that apart from money, it was the highest for the honors as she had played from this platform, while also getting the opportunity to run for the first time on the Tartan track of Jinnah Sports Complex. She added that it was impossible for her to get this position which was made possible by the grace of Allah.
\nTameen Khan said that the record of 100 meters was made in 2001 and the record of 200 meters was made in 1987 which she had broken in 2021, adding believed in herself that insha-Allah she could win in the international level athletics championship.
