PESHAWAR
\nThe ruling Pakistan Tahrik e Insaf has outclassed Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUIF), Awami National Party and others political parties in Buner and Nowshera districts in the December 19 LG elections.
\nBuner district has been proved as stronghold of PTI where the ruling party clinched victory on its four tehsils including headquarter Daggar, Gagra, Gadezai and Chagarzai by Rozi Khan with 9464 votes, Syed Salar Alam with 11414 votes, Sher Alam Khan with 11505 votes and Sharif Khan with 8055 votes respectively while ANP\u2019s Naseed Khan with 8225 votes secured victory at tehsil Mandar, according to provisional consolidated results of ECP.
\nOut of the three tehsil of Nowshera district, two tehsils including Nowshera City and Jehangira were comfortably win by PTI\u2019s Ishaq Khan Khattak with 49084 votes and Kamran Razik Khan with 32617 votes while the Pabbi tehsil seat was clinched by Engr Ghayoor Khattak of ANP who bagged 27530 votes respectively.
\nOut of the declared results of 47 tehsil in 17 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 12 was won by PTI including the above six tehsils in Nowshera and Buner districts, Swabi City tehsil was clinched by Attaullah Khan with 29363 votes, Lower Mohmand by Naveed Ahmed with 7931, Hassankhel Peshawar by Hafeezur Rehman with 6518 votes, Kakki Bannu by Junaidur Rashid with 4814 votes, Gambat Kohat by Sajid Iqbal with 15021 votes and Kulachi DI Khan by Araiz Khan Gandapur with10236 votes respectively.
\nSplit political mandate was seen in Swabi district where Chota Lahore tehsil was clinched by Adil Khan of PML(N) with 22,036 votes, tehsil Razar by Ghulam Haqqani (ANP) with 52,271 votes and tehsil Topi by Mohammad Raheem (JUI) with 25,110 votes.
\nMardan district was dominated by Jamiat e Ulema Islam and ANP where tehsil Rustam was won by Mubarak Ahmad (JUI) with 16,887 votes, tehsil Garhai Kapora by Bakhtawar Khan (ANP) with 20,244 votes, tehsil Takhat Bhai by Mohammad Saeed (JUI) with 45,881 votes, tehsil City Council by Hamayatullah Mayar (ANP) with 56,458 votes, and tehsil Katlang by Hamadullah (JUI) with 30474, votes respectively.
\nIn Charsadda district, Shabqadar tehsil was clinched by Hamza Asif (JUI) with 33,204 votes, tehsil Charsadda by Abdur Rauf (JUI) 78,2012 votes while tehsil Tangi was won by Fayyaz Ali (INP) 14,189 votes.
\nOne each seat was shared by PTI and JUIF in merged district Mohmand where tehsil Lower Mohamad was won by Naveed Ahmed (PTI) with 7,931 votes and Bezai by Bismillah Jan (JUI) with 4,788 votes.
\nSplit mandate was witnessed in Peshawar where its tehsil Mathra was won by Faridullah Khan (JUI) with 22,000 votes, Chamkani by Arbab Mohamamd Umer Khan (ANP) with 24,415 votes, tehsil Shah Alam by Kaleem Ullah with 21,678, tehsil Badhaber by Tila Mohammad (JUI) 13,454 votes and tehsil Hassan Khel by Hafeezur Rehman (PTI) 6,518 votes.
\nIn Bannu, tehsil City Bannu was clinched by Irfanullah Durrani (JUI) with 59,844 votes, tehsil Wazir by Mastu Khan (JUI) 9,228 votes, tehsil Kaki by Junaid-ur-Rashid (PTI) with 4,814 votes, and tehsil Miryan by Kamal Shah (INP) with 13,233 votes.
\nTank district was swept away by JUIF where its tehsil Jandola was clinched by Bahadur Khan (JUI) with 2,310 votes and tehsil Tank City by Saddam Hussain (JUI) with 36,415 votes. In merged district Khyber, tehsil Jamrud was secured by Syed Nawaz (TIP) with 9,398 votes.
\nHaripur district was dominated by PMLN where its tehsils Khanpur, Ghazi and Haripur City were won by Raja Haroon Sikandar (PMLN) with 33,700 votes, Mohammad Qasim Shah (PMLN) with 16,583 votes and Sameeullah Khan (INP) 89,461 votes respectively.
\nIn Kohat, Kohat City tehsil was won by Sher Zaman (JUI) with 34,434 votes while Lachi tehsil was secured by Independent Mohammad Ahsan with 8,704, votes and tehsil Gumbat by Sajid Iqbal (PTI) 15,021 votes.
\nSplit political mandate was witnessed in DIKhan where tehsils Parora, Daraban, Pahahrpur, Kulachi, Darazinda were won by Fakharullah Khan (INP) with 23,346 votes, Ehsanullah Khan (JI) with 16,420 votes, Makhdoom Altaf Hussain Shah (PPP) with 37,302 votes, Araiz Khan Gandapur (PTI) with 10,236 votes and Izat Gul (INP) with 3,154 votes respectively.
\nIn Hangu, Amir Ghani (independent) with 19,230 votes had secured victory at tehsil Hangu City while Imran Mohammad (JUI) with 13,130 votes bagged tehsil Thall.
\nA R Hilali, former Chairman Political Science Department, University of Peshawar told APP that successful holding of first phase of LG election in KP was a good omen for democracy and LG\u2019s results would have political repercussions in the country\u2019s future politics.
\nHe said JUIF had gained ground in KP after being washed out in the 2018 general elections. He said PTI has clinched substantial seats in almost all districts especially in Buner, Mohmand, DI Khan and Nowshera districts, adding price hike and inflation were the major reasons behind PTI\u2019s less number of seats in LG polls. He said LG elections were held in a free and transparent manner and accepting election results by PTI was a great political gesture.
\nDr Hilali said there was around one and half years left in 2023 general elections and if PTI succeeded in controlling price-hike and inflation it has all the potential to emerge victorious in the upcoming elections.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
