ISLAMABAD
\nNational Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser has said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with the United States and wants to expand them in different fields.
\nThe speaker said this during a meeting with US Charg\u00e9 d\u2019Affaires Angela Aggeler who called on him on Tuesday.
\nDuring the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest, including regional and international issues.
\nThe speaker said Pakistan desires resolution of all outstanding issues peacefully through dialogue as per relevant UN resolutions. He said peaceful Afghanistan is imperative for progress and prosperity of the region.
\nHe said Pakistan has always played a positive role for peace in Afghanistan. He said the people of Afghanistan are facing a difficult economic situation after the emergence of a new administration in their country.
\nTalking about the recently held extraordinary session of the council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation in Islamabad, the Speaker said the OIC foreign ministers emphasised on promoting religious harmony.
\nAsad Qaiser said Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with the United States and stressed the need for promoting parliamentary interactions between the two countries to further expand bilateral relations.
\nAngela Aggeler said that her country gives immense importance to Pakistan\u2019s efforts for durable peace in the region.
