PIA airlifts 11m doses of Covid vaccine from China

\nThe National Command and Operations Centre has announced that Covid-19 vaccination centres will remain closed on January 1 and 2 across the country.
\nThe NCOC said on Thursday that the vaccination staff have been working throughout the year to achieve the national goal. The vaccination process is to resume from January 3, 2022, it added.
\nThe NCOC also announced that 30 percent of Pakistan\u2019s total population and 46 percent of the eligible population have been vaccinated against Covid.
\nIn the \u201cwake of the rising threat of Omicron\u201d, the forum urged all citizens to get fully vaccinated and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). \u201cWear a mask, avoid crowded places and ensure social distancing,\u201d the NCOC said via its official Twitter handle.
\nApproximately 1.5 million anti-Covid jabs have been administered across the country in the past 24 hours, bringing the national total up to 155,023,641.
\nMeanwhile, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has airlifted fresh consignments of 11 million doses of Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine by four special flights from the Capital International Airport, Beijing to Islamabad, PIA Country Manager, Qadir Bux Sangi said on Thursday.
\nThree special flights of the national flag carrier i.e. PAK-6852, PAK-6853 and PK-6854 have already transported a total of nine million doses of Sinovac vaccine from December 28 to December 30, he said. PIA special flight PK-6855 carrying two million doses of Sinovac Covid-19 vaccines left the Chinese capital here for Islamabad on Thursday night, he added.
\nSangi said that from December 10 to December 15, PIA transported 15 million doses of Sinovac Covid-19 vaccines by five special flights from Beijing to Islamabad. PIA special flights PAK-6852, PAK-6853, PK-6856, PK-6857 and PK-6858 transported 15 million doses of Sinovac vaccine from December 10 to December 15, he added. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
