\nCity Traffic Police during the year 2021 has taken action against 1.2 million people for violating traffic rules and regulations, said annual report. According to statistics of the annual report released here on Thursday, traffic police in the provincial capital took action against 1.2 million people for not abiding by traffic rules.
\nThe report noted that action has been taken against 77,442 persons for parking vehicles in no parking zones and 7,011 persons for driving without route permits.
\nChief Traffic Officer Abbas Majeed Marwat while explaining report added that around 257,665 people for driving without helmets and 20,515 for using tinted windows issued fine tickets.
\nMore than 3352 persons have been fined using mobile phones while driving and 33,376 motorists have been fined for not using seat belt, the report shared.
\nTraffic police took action has been taken against 2982 persons for driving under minors, 2802 for driving unregistered vehicles and 556 persons for disrupting the flow of emergency vehicles. It further mentioned that 11,087 persons for repeating any violation, 10,901 persons for wrong overtaking fined.
\nSimilarly, 15,409 persons for refusing to provide licenses, 28,533 persons for over speeding and 9,629 persons for erroneous U-turns were fined.
\n19,353 persons for driving without a driving license while 19,274 persons have been prosecuted for violating traffic rules, said Chief Traffic Officer. Moreover 7,639 persons for improper loading of goods and 43,333 persons for misusing vehicle signals, it added.
\nAction has been taken against 84,212 persons for breaking the traffic lane and 143,857 persons for not giving the right of way to other vehicles, Chief Traffic Officer said.
\nAwareness campaigns have reduced the number of fatal traffic accidents by 14 percent as compared to 2020, while other traffic accidents have reduced by 19 percent, said Abbas Majeed Khan Marwat.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
