Pakistan People\u2019s Party (PPP) leader Senator Sherry Rehman demanded details of sales tax and autonomy of SBP from the Finance Minister.<\/p>\n
Sherry Rehman said that details should also be provided regarding the postponement of loan review by Pakistan for IMF.<\/p>\n
It should be noted that the Governor SBP Dr. Raza Baqir had said that now the draft has come before everyone in which all the powers are with the government, it is wrong to give the impression that the IMF is being made the owner of the SBP.<\/p>\n
Briefing the Standing Committee on Finance, the SBP governor said that fake news was spread that the government had sold the SBP to the IMF.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen had said that the government of Pakistan would retain control over the SBP.<\/p>\n
