NCOC revised Covid-19 guidelines for districts higher than 10 percent positivity ratio

\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Wednesday detected 37 more Omicron cases as the National Command Operation Center (NCOC) decided to revise Covid-19 guidelines and SOPs for the districts where the positivity rate is higher than 10 percent.
\nAccording to a report of the health department a total of 37 Omicron cases have been reported in the province during the last 24 hours, including 18 from Peshawar, the epicenter of Covid-19 since its onset in 2020.
\nSo far 145 cases of Omicron have been reported in the province.
\nAmong the newly reported cases, 18 patients from Peshawar, three from Mardan, two from Bajaur and 13 from Malakand district, said the health department report.
\nThe ages of all the patients are between 15 and 70 years.
\nMoreover, KP reported 331 new cases of coronavirus during the last 24 hours and two new fatalities.
\nWith the new cases the number of total active cases surged to 1426 in the province.
\nThe province also reported 60 new recoveries, while a total 175557 people have been recovered from the virus infection.
\nA total of 11513 tests were conducted during the same period of time in KP, additionally the province count for total tests reached to 4013367.
\nAfter taking a detailed review of the Covid-19 spread in the country, the NCOC on Wednesday revised SOPs and other necessary guidelines to cope with new variants in the fifth wave.
\nAccording to new directives NCOC revised SOPs for the education, restaurant, and entertainment sectors.
\n It further shared that areas and districts with positivity higher than 10 percent, the classes for children under 12 years will continue classes, while classes will be conducted daily for fully-vaccinated students above 12 years of age.
\nIn the cities and districts which have a positivity ratio of up to 10 percent, where classes will continue but with strict SOPs and Covid-19 protocols.
\nThe NCOC said that one dose for students above 12 years will be mandatory from February 1.
\nIt is pertinent to mention here that due to increasing cases of virus, the health department has alerted all district health officers to enforce smart lockdown in the areas inhabited by Covid-19 patients. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
