\nThe Chairman Board of Revenue (FBR), Dr Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmad, claimed to have achieved tax target of six trillion set for the ongoing financial year, adding that efforts are being made to surpass the target at the end of the year.
\nFBR Chairman Dr Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmed government has also decided to take pragmatic steps and make all those accountable who avoid paying tax in the country, adding that a crackdown has been waged on various places against non-tax payers.
\nHe expressed these views during his visit to Custom House Peshawar on the occasion of Custom Day.
\nMember Customs Operation Syed Tariq Huda, Chief Collector Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Raza Ahmad Khan, Collector Enforcement Peshawar Malik Kamran Azam Khan, Collector Appraisal Peshawar Amjad Rehman, Director Customs Intelligence Peshawar Yousuf Haider Orakzai and other army officers were present on the occasion.
\nEarlier, when Chairman FBR arrived at Customs House Peshawar, he visited the memorial of martyrs and laid a wreath while he was presented guard of honor for the first time in the history of customs.
\nHe said that no one can deny the role of customs in the national economy, adding that data about the citizens and their commercial activities have been managed and would be used for tax collection.
