ISLAMABAD
\nIslamabad police have arrested nine drug-peddlers during it\u2019s crackdown against the menace in the city, a police spokesman said.
\nHe said that, following directions of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas, a massive anti-drug campaign had been launched in the city to curb the menace.
\nFollowing these directions, a Ramna police team raided at different locations and arrested three drug-peddlers identified as Muhammad Raizwan, Rustam Khan and Muhammad Usman and recovered 1380 gram heroin from their possession. Golra police team arrested a drug-peddler Muhammad Umer and recovered 1210 heroin.
\nShahzad Town police team arrested two accused Muhammad Ismail and Shahzad and recovered 1140 gram heroin from their possession.
\nMeanwhile Secretariat police team arrested three bootleggers namely Faizan, Fayyaz and Nasir and recovered five bottles wine from their possession.
\nCases have been registered against the accused, investigation is underway.
\nIGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas has appreciated the police performance and further directed to intensify this crackdown in the whole city. \u201c No one would be allowed to play with the precious lives of the citizens, \u201c he added.
