KARACHI
\nUnder Federal Government\u2019s Kamyab Jawan Programme (KJP), Rs. 10 billion will be distributed among youth of Sindh this year, enabling them to commence their own business.
\nTalking to media here on Tuesday along with Leader of the Opposition in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Shaikh, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Muhammad Usman Dar said that an amount of Rs. 150 billion has been earmarked for KJP out of which an amount Rs. 32 billion has so far been distributed among youth, resulting in the launch of 22000 new businesses.
\nHe said that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the government was ensuring institutional arrangements for youth development alongside their engagement at all levels. The Federal government wanted to expedite Kamyab Jawan program in Sindh and in the first phase of Kamyab Jawan in Sindh, Karachi\u2019s youth was focused upon while the next phase will include rest of the Sindh, he said adding that Kamyab Jawan\u2019s business loans scheme has so far disbursed Rs. 3 billions among young entrepreneurs of Karachi alone which resulted in establishment of 600 plus startups and creation of over 3000 jobs for the youth of the metropolis.
\nHe said that over 5000 retail outlets including grocery, garments and other commodities, had started their business across the country. Under the initiative, 1200 retail outlets had to begin business in Karachi and a number of them had already opened up despite difficulties arising out of Covid-19 pandemic, he added.
\n\u201cFederal government will not leave the youth of Sindh alone and scholarships will be provided to them for vocational training,\u201d he added.
\nHe further added that under this programme, cheques will be distributed among deserving youth of in two phases. He said that the federal government would not leave the youth of Sindh alone and scholarships would be provided to them for vocational training.
\n\u201cUnder Kamyab Jawan\u2019s Skills for All project, we have also launched various youth engagement projects with a total cost of Rs. 4 billion\u201d, Usman Dar said adding that under the project, 7000 plus scholarships amounting to Rs 43 million has been awarded in Sindh.
\nUsman Dar further added that Kamyab Jawan Innovation League is also designed to engage youth in exploring and exploitation of enormous opportunities in Information Technology sector. \u201cUnder this programme, cheques will be distributed among deserving youth of Sindh in two phases,\u201d he said.
\nOn January 15, Usman Dar had said the government was aiming to disburse loans of Rs50 billion this year through the Kamyab Jawan Programme to encourage youth entrepreneurship and create jobs in the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
