2.7 million rickshaws, taxis and flying coaches parked due to CNG closure, said motion

\nThe Awami National Party (ANP) has submitted an adjournment motion in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly secretariat to draw the house attention towards continuous gas load shedding, low pressure and closure of CNG stations across the province including Peshawar.
\nThe adjournment motion was submitted by Awami National Party (ANP) Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Khushdal Khan here on Friday.
\nHe claimed that people have been suffering from food shortages for the last three months due to continuous gas load shedding, low pressure and closure of CNG stations across the province especially in Peshawar.
\nKhushdal Khan said the province had never experienced such a critical situation due to power shortage, adding that under Article 158 of the 1973 Constitution, the first right to mineral and natural production belongs to the people of the province as it is produced in KP.
\nThe motion further said that at present our province\u2019s daily gas production stands at 500 MMCFD While our daily requirement in severe cold days is barely 300 MMCF.
\nHe said that KP supplies almost half of our natural gas production to the federation.
\nThe condition of low pressure was that our daily children have been forced to go to school without breakfast.
\nDomestic women were facing severe difficulties in everything from providing milk to infants to preparing food in the kitchen.
\nAt present, according to a conservative estimate, more than 2.7 million rickshaws, taxis and flying coaches have been parked in our province due to non-availability of CNG, due to which passengers, students were also facing severe travel difficulties he added.
\nHe claimed that the Peshawar High Court had ruled in 2012 that gas supply to KPK could not be suspended but at that time the present federal government had earlier imposed line losses in the months of May, June and July and now in November.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
