The PAF, in a series of tweets posted on its official Twitter handle, said, \u201cToday marks the date when elite \u2018No 28 Multirole Squadron\u2019 of Pakistan Air Force, equipped with Pakistan\u2019s Pride JF-17 Thunder, was raised at PAF Base Samungli. The squadron was raised on 28 Feb, 2018 to strengthen Pakistan\u2019s security along its western borders.\u201d It further said the Number 28 Squadron was named \u201cPhoenix\u201d, which symbolised \u201cRebirth\u201d as well as \u201cFire and Passion\u201d. The motto of PAF No 28 Squadron is \u201cKhudi Ko Jis Nay Falak Say Buland Ter Dekha\u201d, based on Iqbal\u2019s concept of self-reliance and integrity that is far higher than the skies.
