{"id":248770,"date":"2022-03-11T09:09:39","date_gmt":"2022-03-11T04:09:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=248770"},"modified":"2022-03-11T09:09:39","modified_gmt":"2022-03-11T04:09:39","slug":"imran-khan-nadra-election-commission-put-on-notice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/imran-khan-nadra-election-commission-put-on-notice\/","title":{"rendered":"Imran Khan, NADRA, Election commission put on notice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rigging allegations case<br \/>\n ISLAMABAD<br \/>\nSupreme Court (SC) has issued notices to Imran Khan, NADRA and Election Commission on the petition filed by former speaker National Assembly (NA) Ayyaz Sadiq pertaining to rigging charges against him in NA-122 during 2013 general election.<br \/>\nA 3-member bench of SC presided over by the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial took up the case for hearing Thursday.<br \/>\nThe petitioner took the plea during the hearing of the case that \u201c I was subjected to character assassination due to charges of rigging. I was called liar. I had to hear several remarks being speaker. The impression of my involvement in rigging in polls was created .<br \/>\nThe CJP inquired \u201cdid you suffer defeat in the election after all this.<br \/>\nAyyaz Sadiq said he won the polls. I have never lost the election. This is a political issue.<br \/>\nThe CJP remarked the petitioner is highly sensitive person. Election-2013 and its period have expired. This matter is now finished. Much betterment has come due to Election Act-2017. Election commission has done much work too. We have issued notice to respondents. We will hear this matter soon.<br \/>\nJustice Muhammad Ali Mazhar remarked \u201c Ayyaz Sadiq Sahb you are very sensitive. The law of defamation is very clear.
