The session, which will be the 41st of the current National Assembly, was summoned after the joint opposition made the requisition for it under Article 54 of the Constitution along with the submission of the no-confidence motion against the prime minister on March 8.<br \/>\nIt is pertinent to mention here that as per the constitution, once a session of the National Assembly has been requisitioned with signatures of at least 25 per cent of the members on it, the speaker has a maximum of 14 days to summon a session.<br \/>\nTherefore, in current scenario, Asad Qaiser was unable to comply with article 54 of the constitution of Pakistan apparently. However, the Speaker has released an explanation on his part in this case.<br \/>\nAs per the statement, Speaker National Assembly said Sunday that National Assembly Halls will be under usage of the ministry of foreign affairs on March 22 and 23 in connection with the 48th session of the Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers.<br \/>\nThe explanation added that when contacted with Senate Secretariat, it was revealed that halls of the upper house of Parliament were currently going under renovation, and hence the NA meeting was being called on March 25.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD Speaker of the National Assembly (NA) Asad Qaiser has summoned the much-awaited National Assembly Session on March 25, to deliberate on the opposition\u2019s no-confidence resolution against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
