\nJamshaid Akhtar Sheikh, Acting President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) appreciated the Government of Pakistan for hosting the 48th Session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Council of Foreign Ministers (OIC-CFM) in Islamabad on March 22-23, 2022 under the theme \u201cBuilding Partnerships for Unity, Justice, and Development\u201d, which was a matter of great for Pakistan.
\nHowever, proposed that the 48th Summit of OIC-CFM should also discuss and focus on promoting trade among OIC countries as these countries have huge potential to promote trade and economic relations, which still remained untapped.
\nHe said that 57 member countries of OIC have huge potential to become one of the largest economic blocs in the world and proposed that the 48th Summit of OIC-CFM should explore new possibilities of promoting trade among OIC countries that will bring more progress and prosperity to these countries.
\nJamshaid Akhtar Sheikh also welcomed the good gesture of political parties to maintain a conducive environment in the federal capital during the OIC Summit that would send a good signal to the outside world.
\nHe further stressed that all political parties should play a role to maintain political stability in the country and settle all issues in accordance with the constitution and laws of the country.
\nHe said that political instability always affected business and investment activities in any country and emphasized that maintaining political stability should be the top priority of the government as well as of all the political parties to put Pakistan on the path of sustainable economic growth.<\/p>\n
Muhammad Faheem Khan, Vice President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that the economy of Pakistan was still facing many challenges and the country needed to attract more local and foreign investment for its economic stability.<\/p>\n
However, political instability would cause damage to the economy, therefore, all stakeholders should keep the national interest supreme and settle their issues in light of the democratic traditions and constitutional requirements to save the economy from further troubles.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
