\nPrime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday turned his guns on PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, accusing him of targeting the judiciary, election commission, and military when he returns to Pakistan.
\nIn an address to a rally in Kamalia, the prime minister said the \u201conly objective\u201d behind the Opposition\u2019s no-confidence motion against him was to come into power and close \u201call of their corruption cases\u201d and dismantle the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
\nPM Imran said once the Opposition comes into power and closes all the corruption cases, PML-N supremo would return to Pakistan from London, take support from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and \u201cattack the courts\u201d.
\nThe prime minister said the PML-N supremo had started \u201cyellow journalism, paid off judges, and bought members of parliaments\u201d to achieve his own goals.
\nPM Imran said as Nawaz was \u201ccorrupt\u201d, he would not let a free judiciary thrive, therefore, his major target would be the courts. \u201cHe \u2014 despite being in London \u2014 has already divided the Supreme Court judges.\u201d
\n\u201cAfter all these things, his next target will be the Pakistan Army. He has had issues with every army chief that he has appointed,\u201d the prime minister said about Nawaz.
\nGiving a reason behind Nawaz\u2019s \u201cissues with army chiefs\u201d, PM Imran Khan said the army\u2019s agencies are the first ones who get information about the PML-N supremo\u2019s \u201ccorruption\u201d.
\n\u201cHe wants to control them as he already controls other institutions. Nawaz also met [Indian PM Narendra] Modi secretively in Nepal,\u201d the prime minister said.
\nLosing power \u2018a small price to pay\u2019
\nOn the no-confidence motion, PM Imran Khan warned the Opposition that losing power was \u201ca small price to pay\u201d and he would go after the Opposition even if it costs him \u201chis life\u201d.
\nLashing out at the Opposition, cricket star-turned-politician alleged that they were \u201cbuying the conscience\u201d of members of the National Assembly for Rs250-300 million.
\n\u201cThrough looted money, the country\u2019s biggest thugs want to oust a sitting government,\u201d the prime minister alleged, adding that it was now the nation\u2019s duty to stand with the incumbent government against a \u201ccorrupt\u201d Opposition.
\n\u201cPeople should come out and give them a message: Your days of corruption are over.\u201d
\nThe prime minister asked the nation to reach Islamabad on March 27 (tomorrow) as the PTI aims to hold a \u201chistoric\u201d rally at Parade Ground, which will show the Opposition that the masses stand with the \u201ctruth\u201d.
\nThe prime minister has been addressing back-to-back rallies which will lead up to the ruling PTI\u2019s public gathering in Islamabad tomorrow, touted as a referendum for PM Imran Khan.
\n\u2018Thank you three stooges\u2019
\nThe prime minister also thanked \u201cthree stooges\u201d \u2014 PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif, PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, and PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman \u2014 for boosting PTI\u2019s support base.
\n\u201cPeople were frightened after seeing their faces. They became afraid that the three stooges might return to power. Thus, the masses turned towards me and even those, who were against PTI, have now started supporting us,\u201d the prime minister told the rally.
\n\u2018Inflation still less in Pakistan\u2019
\nSpeaking about the works of his government, the prime minister said the Opposition was \u201cafraid\u201d that Pakistan came out of the coronavirus crisis with fewer setbacks.
\n\u201cThere have been record exports, textile production, record tax collections \u2014 this has helped us spend money on the people,\u201d he said.
\nPM Imran claimed that despite inflation rising internationally, the \u201cinflation in Pakistan was still less\u201d.
