Jaleel Andrabi was arrested by Major Avtar Singh of 35th Rashtriya Rifles on March 8, 1996, and three weeks later his body was found floating in the Jhelum River, said a report released by Kashmir Media Service, today. It said March 27 marks the 26th martyrdom anniversary of Jaleel Andrabi, adding 26 years have passed when his body was found floating in Jhelum River days after his arrest on March 08, 1996. The report said Jaleel Andrabi was murdered for documenting human rights violations by Indian troops in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir IIOJK as till his death, he remained a vocal critic of the crimes committed by Indian troops in the territory.
