ISLAMABAD
\nIslamabad High Court (IHC) has served notices on Akbar S Babar and Election Commission (EC) in foreign funding case.
\nThe court remarked EC and Akbar S Babar should file reply till April. Decision will be made after hearing EC and Akbar S Babar.
\nThe counsel for PTI prayed the court Akbar S Babar should be stopped from giving arguments on EC documents.
\nThe court remarked how can we order any one to give brief arguments in EC.
\nAnwar Mansoor, counsel for PTI told the court EC had constituted scrutiny committee and its TORs were given. Scrutiny committee obtained information from State Bank on its own which have nothing to do with Akbar S Ahmad. What information were obtained by EC on administrative side cannot be shared with Akbar S Ahmad.
\nThe court inquired do you want Akbar S Ahmad should not be given access to the information which EC had obtained itself. Read the law and tell us has EC been barred from giving access to any one to such information.
\nAnwar Mansoor read out relevant laws before the court.
\nThe court remarked this is for you that you should not become unnerved so much. Scrutiny committee has not given such weight to Akbar S Ahmad. It worked our report on its own.
\nThe counsel for PTI said Supreme Court decisions are there that EC cannot go beyond its powers.
\nThe court remarked are you wanting to get work out code of conduct for EC through judicial orders.
\nThe counsel told the court Akbar S Ahmad has zero informations on what information have been obtained by EC on its own.
\nThe court remarked are your replies secret documents.
