Islamabad High Court (IHC) has dismissed the petition seeking investigation into alleged threatening letter related to foreign conspiracy to topple former Prime Minister ( PM) Imran Khan government declaring it non – maintainable.<\/p>\n
The single bench of IHC led by Chief Justice (CJ) Athar Minallah has imposed fine of Rs 1 lac on the petitioner.
\nThe petitioner Moulvi Iqbal Haider took the plea opposition parties filed no confidence resolution against the PM. Imran Khan earlier remained silent. Later he showed the letter saying conspiracy has been hatched against his government. <\/p>\n
It was said in the petition the diplomatic cable was refuted by US authorities. Therefore, investigation should be conducted in respect of this letter. <\/p>\n
The CJ IHC Athar Minallah remarked why are you politicizing this matter. It is responsibility of the state. Why have you come to court. <\/p>\n
The CJ IHC inquired what is your request with the court. <\/p>\n
Moulvi Iqbal Haider said our relations with US were plagued therefore, order be issued to probe into the matter. Interior secretary is bound to hold investigation into the alleged threatening letter. It was responsibility of the federation it should have got investigated the matter and taken up it with the international court of justice. <\/p>\n
Moulvi Iqbal Haider took the plea name of Imran Khan, Fawad Chaudhry, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, deputy speaker national assembly Qasim Soori and Asad Majid, Pakistan former ambassador to US be placed in ECL. Order be issued to send the complaint to trial court for trying the respective persons in high treason case.
\nHe further contended he had resorted to high court for running high treason case against the former president of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf. The court\u2019s proceedings was initiated against Pervez Musharraf on his petition. <\/p>\n
CJ IHC remarked Imran Khan was elected Prime Minister. Don\u2019t make his comparison with Pervez Musharraf. <\/p>\n
