\nA two-day sports\u2019 gala organized under the auspices of MOL Pakistan Oil and Gas Company BV in Terri Chowk Sports Complex, Tehsil Banda Daud Shah for the youth of Karak and its adjoining areas concluded, said a press release issued here on Tuesday.
\nThe Sports\u2019 Gala was held under the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiative of the company. Like previous years, various fun-filled sports activities include football, volleyball, tug of war, Konali (Kabaddi), tent-pegging and gymnastics etc. Khattak dance and horse dance remained the most popular segments that enthralled the audiences with the magnificent performances.
\nThe event and the sports activities related to it were witnessed by 600-700 people, belonging to the local communities including elders, youth, and children from surrounding villages.
\nAssistant Commissioner (AC) Banda Daud Shah Syed Fahad Iftikhar was the chief guest of the closing ceremony. Tehsil Mayor BDS Inayat Khattak.
\nHead of Community Development Department of MOL Pakistan and local councilors and elders also attended.
\nSpeaking on the occasion, the chief guest, while lauding MOL Pakistan for its efforts, said that he is glad that MOL Pakistan is regularly organizing healthy activities for the youth of the region. Such activities not only provide a platform for building excellence, rather also help to develop healthy skills in the youth.
\nIn his message, Ali Murtaza Abbas, MOL Group Regional Vice President for Middle East, Africa & Pakistan said that the company is a responsible corporate entity which particularly focuses on the sustainable development of the communities of its operational areas.
\nHe thanked all the teams who participated and excelled in different sports\u2019 disciplines. He also appreciated the support of the local administration extended to the company without which, he said it would not have been possible to conduct such a mega event for the energetic youth of this region.
