\nFormer captain and wicketkeeper Moin Khan in an interview opened up about the political changes and its implications on the PCB along with his aspirations to work alongside the cricketing board and more.
\n\u201cIt is a given that the PCB chairman is selected based on Patron-in-Chief\u2019s nomination. Being a cricketer, I think the new government should assess if Ramiz Raja himself wants to continue or not,\u201d he said.
\n\u201cHaving said that, if they want to select a new candidate then that is completely within the constitution of the cricketing board and there should be no problem about it,\u201d Moin added.
\nMoin Khan was one of many people to have voiced his opinion against abandoning departmental cricket under Imran Khan\u2019s reign. Speaking about that, Moin Khan claimed that it is his plea to Shehbaz Sharif to restore departmental cricket.
\n\u201cI still oppose the decision and this is still something I disagree with. Being a cricketer, seeing cricketers become unemployed is wrong. I still stand on the same opinion and I think cricketers should be employed through different departments,\u201d he said.
\n\u201cCricket is perhaps the only sport remaining in Pakistan and the cricketing board should do everything in their power to cater to as many players as they possibly can; that can only be done through departmental cricket,\u201d
\nThe 50-year-old further stated that one should stick to their roots based on which they are recognised and also touched upon his aspirations to get into PCB management.
\n\u201cI am thankful to the Almighty that I am in a position to contribute. I already have an academy to help young cricketers on grassroot level. So, I am already involved in things which I am proud of.
