\nThe Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety Authority, while conducting operations in different parts of the province, sealed nine bakery shops and littered a large quantity of unhealthy dyes, chemicals and substandard bakery products. During the operation in Umarzai Bazaar area of \u200b\u200bCharsadda, general stores and bakery units were inspected.
\nDuring the operation, two bakery units were sealed and heavy fines were imposed on them for using poor hygiene, non-food grade color, expired glucose and rangolite. Similarly, regular crackdown against substandard bakeries is also going on in Lower Dir district. During the operation in Odigram, more than 100 kg of unhealthy sweets and 5 kg of non-food grade chemicals were recovered from two bakeries and destroyed on the spot.
\nUnits were sealed and heavy fines were imposed on the owners. The action was taken on the instructions of Director General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety Authority Shah Rukh Ali Khan. Like other districts of the province, sweets and bakery units were also inspected during the operation on Jamrud Road in Khyber District. During the operation, a bakery unit was sealed for poor hygiene, use of non-food colors, expired items and use of ringlets.
\nDuring the inspection in Bazar Ahmad Khan and Janzeb Gali areas of Bannu, a bakery production unit was sealed for improper hygiene and fined for exporting energy drinks from a wholesale shop. During the inspection, various bakery units and general stores were also checked in Dir Bala Wari Bazaar like Lower Dir.
\nThree bakery units were sealed and fined for poor hygiene and use of non-food coloring, while one general store was fined for the presence of china salt.
