KARACHI
\nPPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari announced Tuesday that he will be taking oath as a federal minister tomorrow, and is likely to be appointed as the foreign minister.
\nBilawal made the announcement in a press conference after a meeting of the PPP\u2019s Central Executive Committee (CEC). The development comes after Adviser to Prime Minister on Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Qamar Zaman Kaira said last week his party chairman would take oath within two days.
\nBilawal was present at the time when the initial federal cabinet members took oath, however, he did not take the oath. But Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb had assured that the PPP chairman would take the oath after he returns to Pakistan.
\nIn a conversation with journalists in London, Kaira said Bilawal has left for Pakistan \u2014 after he held two meetings with PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif to exchange views on political matters.
\nMeanwhile, in today\u2019s press conference, Bilawal said former prime minister Imran Khan\u2019s \u201cforeign conspiracy\u201d narrative hurt Pakistan\u2019s image on international forums.
\nBilawal said the PTI chairman\u2019s \u201cconspiracies\u201d would continue as he keeps shifting his targets from the judiciary to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
\nThe PPP chairman said Khan violated the Constitution and considered it a \u201cpiece of paper\u201d, while ex-deputy speaker Qasim Suri and President Arif Alvi were involved in the \u201cconspiracy\u201d with him as well.
\nHe demanded that the events that had transpired on the night before the vote on the no-confidence motion against the then-prime minister should be investigated.
\n\u201cImran Khan\u2019s politics is based on lies and propaganda. He is running a campaign \u2018why didn\u2019t you save me\u2019. He is targeting every institution that did not \u2018save\u2019 him,\u201d the PPP chairman said.
\nBilawal blamed Khan for making \u201call the institutions of Pakistan controversial\u201d and called on them to keep working within their constitutional parameters.
\nOn his meeting with the PML-N supremo, Bilawal said Nawaz had invited him to iftar, where they discussed the \u201cCharter of Democracy (CoD) II\u201d \u2014 and not \u201cthe handing of portfolios\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
