\nThe Pak-Afghan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PAJCCI) has welcomed the government\u2019s decision of extending waiver on import from Afghanistan in Pakistani rupee (PKR) till June 30 and constitution of committee for initiation of barter trade with the neighbouring country.
\nPAJCCI Vice President Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi in a press statement issued on Sunday termed both the decision as very welcoming and positive development in regard with improvement of commerce and trade in the region benefiting thousands of people on both sides of the border. He said that the extension in waiver for trade with Afghanistan in Pak rupee has saved the business community of the country from facing huge financial losses.
\nThe decision was very timely and needed of the hour, providing time for businessmen of both the countries to continue trade and find out a suitable solution for commerce through a barter trade system. Zia also appreciated the constitution of the committee by Pakistan for initiating discussion to initiate barter trade between both the countries.
\nHe said, \u201cThe Afghan government has already formed the committee and now talks will initiate between both sides after a decision taken by the Pakistan government.\u201d Zia said there are a lot of problems in the barter trade system but consultation between businessmen of both the countries will find suitable solutions to these problems and trade and business in the region will continue to flourish.
\nThe 13-member committee constituted by Pakistan for barter trade comprises members from FPCCI, PAJCCI, Sarhad Chamber, Chaman Chamber, Quetta Chamber, All Pakistan Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Chamber, Rice Export Association, Pharmaceutical Manufacturer Association, Cement Manufacturer Association, Poultry Association, Carpet Manufacturer and Exporters Association and Meat Export and Processing Association.
\nThe committees of Pakistan and Afghanistan will hold online meetings and submit suggestions to their respective governments for initiation of barter trade between both the countries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
