\nDefence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said electoral reforms are very essential for holding free, fair and transparent elections in the country.
\nTalking to a private news channel, he said that the government would not go in the general elections by leaving incomplete electoral reforms process. Replying to a question, he said his statement regarding appointment of the Army Chief was published without reference and context and he just replied to the question of a reporter.
\nThe Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) leader said that if it was in his control he would bring Nawaz Sharif back the coming day but the decision about his return will be taken by the party leadership.
\nHe further said that Imran Khan\u2019s anti-America narrative is worthless and Arif Alvi, Omar Sarfaraz Cheema and Qasim Suri violated the constitution of the country. The minister said that he is a political workers and does not believe in arrest of opponents. \u201cWe will not act like Imran Khan under any circumstances and now everything will be as per law and constitution,\u201d he added. It merits mention that during a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif, it was agreed that there is no possibility of early elections in the country and general elections will be held only after the completion of electoral reforms.
\nIt was also agreed that all parties related to the economic issues would be taken into confidence. Nawaz Sharif directed to formulate a strategy to minimize the burden on the people while asked the PML-N leaders to make preparations for the general elections.
