\nFormer Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid and senior Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar have urged the government to finalize the date of election as soon as possible.
\nTaking to Twitter on Saturday, Sheikh Rashid questioned the government that if they will decide the date of election with mutual understanding or with the Judo Karate? The Awami Muslim League Pakistan (AMLP) leader further said, \u201ctalks are being held to hold elections, make decisions before May 31 or it will be too late.\u201d
\nEarlier, Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed had claimed that interviews for caretaker PM were being held in Rawalpindi, Islamabad.
\nSpeaking to the media after getting an extension in his interim bail from the Lahore High Court bench of Rawalpindi, Rasheed took the Shehbaz government by surprise and said that they have only one vote majority in their centre, the entire opposition is alive on a single vote.
\nOn the other hand, senior Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar on Saturday asked the government not to put the country to any further test. He urged those at the helm of affairs to immediately announce the general elections so that the situation in the country could be prevented from going bad to worse.
\nAddressing a press conference in Islamabad, he said that providing protection to the former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan was basically the government\u2019s responsibility. \u201cIf Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz, who is a convict in a corruption reference, can be provided security, how can a leader of Imran\u2019s stature be deprived of it?\u201d he questioned.
\nHe reminded that masses were the real strength of the party chairman. Asad also dispelled the impression that the PTI planned to create unrest under the guise of the long march. \u201cWe believe in the supremacy of the constitution,\u201d he said.
\nMeanwhile, talking to the media in Multan, former foreign minister and PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that he was certain that this time politicians would line up to get party\u2019s tickets for the general elections.
