\nFormer Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday rejected media reports of his party\u2019s alleged deal with PML-N led coalition government and said \u201cabsolutely not\u201d to any such prospects.
\n\u201cRumors and deliberate disinformation that a deal has been done. Absolutely not!\u201d wrote PTI Chairman in his tweet on Wednesday noon, as he led a convoy of his workers from Swabi to Islamabad.
\n\u201cWe are moving towards Islamabad and no question of any deal. We will remain in Islamabad till announcement of dates for dissolution of assemblies and elections are given. Calling all people of Islamabad and Pindi to join,\u201d the PTI chairman wrote.
\nOn the other hand, Federal Minister for information and broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb also denied reports of any negotiations with the PTI leadership.
\n\u201cNo deal between federal government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. The news of any settlement between the two are baseless. No deal has been struck with armed group who shot down a policeman,\u201d Marriyum Aurangzeb wrote on twitter.
\nEarlier, political tensions in Punjab and federal capital Islamabad were sky-rocketing Wednesday as the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers left for Islamabad to attend the much anticipated long march, while the government adopted violent, stern strategy to contain them.
\nThe PTI is marching towards Islamabad from all across the country to put pressure on PML-N led coalition government, demanding immediate, \u2018free and fair\u2019 elections.
\nPTI Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who left for Islamabad from Peshawar along with a massive, charged crowd of party workers, has been demanding free and fair elections abruptly to get rid of what he calls \u201cimported government\u201d.
\nThe government on the other hand is in aggressive mood, as the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, interior minister and other members of federal cabinet have expressed on several times that no one will be allowed to \u201ctake law into their own hands,\u201d adding that PTI long march will be stopped at any cost.
\nThere were large containers on the main highways and entry points of Islamabad Wednesday morning, causing massive trouble for daily commuters and residents of twin cities. The hurdles have apparently been installed to bar PTI workers from moving freely, or entering to the federal capital.
\nClashes have been taking place between PTI workers and the police throughout the day, causing injuries to many. The PTI chairman Imran Khan exhorted his supporters a day earlier (Monday) to embark on their march for \u201ctrue freedom\u201d towards Islamabad, just a day after the government said it would not allow the march. In response, Imran called on the youth to remove the obstacles themselves.
\nOn Wednesday noon, Imran Khan had arrived at the Wali Interchange in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by helicopter. Footage of Imran arriving at the interchange showed PTI activists converging on the chopper.
\nOn the other hand, other party leaders departed from their respective locations, with Hammad Azhar, Yasmin Rashid and some others from Lahore, while Shahid Khattak departed from Karak.
