\nWelcoming the government\u2019s relief package worth Rs28bn for more than 14mln poor families, Chairman, Amun Taraqqi Party Muhammad Faiq Shah demanded the formulation of policy on permanent grounds. He asserted tough decisions shouldn\u2019t be for the poor people.
\nKeeping in view the spiraling \u2018price-hike\u2019, Shah asked to devise a holistic mechanism to ensure availability of essential commodities on subsided or control rates and other facilities to people.
\nIn wake of depressing economic conditions and turmoil, the ATP chairman called upon the rulers to adopt austerity policy and reduce their lavish expenses and expenditures, and give relief to people at optimal level.
\nCompromise on the country\u2019s economy and integrity is intolerable, says Shah, while talking to different political and social activists here on Saturday.
\nCalling upon all institutions and political parties to make decisions unanimously, he emphasized frequent and consistent experiments should be halted now and work for the welfare of people collectively.
\nGiving an example of an all-weather friend of Pakistan, the People\u2019s Republic of China, Faiq said the Government of China has put its country on a path of sustainable economic progress and ranked it in developed nations by adopting enhancing export, business and trade.
\nAll democratic and dictatorial governments had taken tough and harsh decisions for people and freed themselves by holding responsibility for the mess to previous regimes, Mr Shah observed.
\nHe added it is consistently happening in the country.
\nFaiq said former prime minister Imran Khan has shifted all responsibility on the shoulders of the present PML-N led coalition government while the present rulers are blaming the PTI for current economic turmoil.
\nHe reminded PML-N and PPP also held responsibility to each other in the past.
\nShah asked them to take responsibility themselves and to make legislation by framing national economic and foreign policy so the next regimes would initiate work in the light of proposed policies.
