Islamabad High Court (IHC) has remarked state does not play its role in violations against the basic human rights. <\/p>\n
The court further remarked \u201c whatever court does it will do under its constitutional obligation. Government should work out such mechanism if there is any problem with any journalist then the complaint is lodged at one place against him. <\/p>\n
The cases registered against the journalists Arshid Sharif, Sami Ibrahim, Imran Riaz and Dr Moid Pirzada across the country came up for hearing before single bench of IHC led by Chief Justice (CJ) Athar Minallah here Monday. <\/p>\n
The court sought proposals from Afzal Butt former president PFUJ and Saqib Bashir president High Court Journalists Association (HCJA) .The court will issue order in the light of the proposals. <\/p>\n
Afzal Butt former president PFUJ told the court two days time be given to them for consultation. <\/p>\n
The court was told the reply of interior secretary has not come. The court should proceed further when this reply comes. <\/p>\n
Journalists Arshid Sharif, Moid Pirzada, Sami Ibrahim and others appeared in the court.
\nAmicus curiae Afzal Butt, former president PFUJ and amicus curiae president Islamabad high court journalists association appeared in the court. <\/p>\n
The \tCJ IHC remarked Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Tayyab Shah assisted the court well during the last three years. What is the reason whosoever comes in the government forgets the previous things. Government should talk to journalists bodies in such cases. There is no voice of missing persons. Reply from interior secretary could not be filed in the court. All are busy in battle for power. <\/p>\n
