\nThe Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly was informed Monday that the services of teachers who were appointed on contract basis through National Testing Service (NTS) back in 2018 across the province would be regularized soon.
\nProvincial Minister for Housing Dr Amjad Ali while responding to the call attention notice of Inayatullah Khan of Jamaat-e-Islami regarding regularization of NTS teachers which was estimated around 50,000 in the province said that the summary of regularization of teachers had been approved.
\nResponding on behalf of the provincial education minister, he said that the summary would soon be moved by the Law Department to the provincial cabinet for a nod.
\nEarlier, Jamaat-e-Islami parliamentary leader Inayatullah Khan said that from 2018 onwards, teachers of various cadres were appointed on contract basis through NTS but their services were not regularized so far.
\nHe said that a unanimous resolution had already passed by the House regarding the permanent appointment of the teachers and an adjournment motion on this issue was also discussed in the House in April last year but the process of their regularization was not initiated by the provincial government forcing the teachers to stage protests for their just demand.
\nHe pointed out that the issue was of very urgent and important nature as it involved the privilege of the House because the resolution passed by the Assembly was not implemented.
\nHe said the government should take immediate notice of the issue and Minister of Education should inform the House about the real facts in this regard, he added.
\nMeanwhile, the House was informed in a written reply on a question of Sirajuddin of JI, that the KP government allocated Rs122 million during the fiscal year 2021-22 for payment of monthly stipend to medal winner players of under 16 and under 21 games in the province.
\nTo another question of Samar Bilour of ANP, the Home Department in a written reply said that the public safety commissions are fully functional in 12 districts of the province however Public Safety Commission and Public Safety Commissions in remaining districts are not functional due to litigations and after repealing of KP Ehtesab Commission Act.
\nThe House referred the questions of Shagufta Malik of ANP and Mir Kalam Wazir, a privilege motion of Salahuddin of ANP and another of Nighat Orakzai of PPP and a call attention notice of Malik Badshah Saleh of PMLN to concerned committees for further necessary deliberations.
