Former prime minister Imran Khan shares his views on recently unveiled Pakistan Economic Survey

\nHours after the economic survey was presented by Finance Minister Miftah Ismail, PTI Chairman Imran Khan told the people that they will now know what is inflation.
\nPTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan gave his views on the economic condition while sharing his views on the recently unveiled Pakistani Economic Survey for the fiscal year 2021-2022.
\nEarlier today, Finance Minister Miftah Ismail had unveiled the Pakistani Economic Survey, a day before announcing the budget for the fiscal year 2022-23.
\nThe coalition government reflected upon the performance of the economy for the outgoing fiscal year noting that the country witnessed a growth of 6% against the envisaged target of 4.8%.
\nThe former prime minister claimed that the incumbent government was the first in Pakistan\u2019s history to increase inflation by such a high percentage within such a \u201cshort time\u201d. He added that the current parties used to lament about inflation during the PTI\u2019s tenure, however, the prices will increase by \u201cthree times\u201d now.
\n\u201cDollar has reached Rs202 and its impact will come forward now. I fear how will a normal household manage its budget,\u201d said Imran.
\n\u201cThey used to say we are incompetent and the economic condition is now in front of you,\u201d said Imran Khan. He added that \u201cif the country defaults\u201d then it would take a lot of time to get up.
\n\u201cIf they were not ready to handle the country economically then what was the need to conspire. If they were not prepared then what was the need, what was the hurry? Should have waited 1.5 years,\u201d said the PTI chairman.
\nThe former prime minister added that the current government was supposed to reduce inflation, reminding everyone that the during the 3.5 years of the PTI government petrol was increased by Rs55 and diesel by Rs50.
\n\u201cGovernment increased electricity price by Rs10\/unit. People will now find out what is inflation,\u201d said Khan. He admitted that inflation was also present during PTI\u2019s tenure but his government resisted IMF\u2019s pressure.
\n\u201cWe knew IMF\u2019s pressure would increase but we did not take pressure,\u201d said Khan.
\nPakistan unable to produce electricity as it cannot import coal, LNG
\nPTI chairman told the people that Pakistan was unable to produce electricity as it cannot import coal and LNG. He also claimed that the incumbent government was not giving the coal and LNG to the projects that they had set up in their previous governments.
\nThe former prime minister claimed that the current power generation projects have been operating at 25% capacity. He added that they have not gone at full capacity because the country does not have the money to import the coal, adding that loadshedding in the country is also there because of this reason.
\nThe PTI chairman claimed that the \u201c10 dam projects\u201d launched by his government had come under threat as the Wapda\u2019s credit rating has gone down since Shehbaz Sharif came to power.
\nImran claimed that due to the decrease in the credit rating of Wapda the authority is unable to get laons required for building the dams.
\n\u201cGovernment\u2019s rating itself has gone down, Moody\u2019s has decreased Pakistan\u2019s credit rating this means people will give us loans on high interest,\u201d said the PTI chairman.
\nThe former prime minister claimed that \u201ctwo threats\u201d that have come forward since the new government came forward was that it has become difficult for Pakistan to take loans. He added that in turn this has put the dam projects launched by the PTI under threat which would make it diffuclt for Pakistan to increase its water storage capacity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
