\nFormer interior minister Sheikh Rasheed said on Saturday that the coalition government, which had increased the prices of items of essential use even prior to the presentation of the federal budget, had now paved the way for further hike in their prices after levying taxes on fertilizers, natural gas and other items.
\nIn a statement, he expressed the fear that following drop in the forex reserves and foreign remittances, the country was going to default.
\nWhile terming the hike in prices of daily routine items, he said in a tweet that the increase of the prices of petrol, gas, electricity and
\nghee was part of the budget and now the fax tax on fertilizers, natural
\ngas, and vendors electric bills is also part of it.<\/p>\n
He added that declining foreign remittances and foreign exchange
\nreserves were leading to economic default. The nation should wait 45
