ISLAMABAD: The airlines, both national and international, have raised their fare up to 50% making air travel all the more costlier. Due to unstoppable appreciation in the value of dollar and free fall of Pakistani currency, the fuel prices have gone through the roof. The airlines which are buying expensive fuel have also decided to jack up their air fare. The international and domestic airlines out of the blue have made a phenomenal increase in the prices of their tickets. The rates of tickets for Great Britain, European countries, Turkey and several other exotic destinations have gone up by 50%. The domestic air fares too did not lag behind in this price hike spree and raised their rates by Rs 28,000 to RS30,000 for all flights going from Karachi to Lahore and Islamabad.
