\nSpeakers at a seminar have apprised the small scale-manufacturers and traders about Generalized Scheme of Preferences Plus (GSP+) status granted by European Union that were allowed a duty-free access to Pakistan\u2019s products to EU market and asked them to take full benefits from this special EU scheme and to enhance country\u2019s export and stabilize economy.
\nThe seminar titled: EU and Pakistan Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) \u2013 Engine of Development and Partners held under auspices of EU-Pakistan Business Forum 2022 in Peshawar, after organizing other cities of the country, according to a statement issued here on Sunday.
\nThomas Seiler, Charge d\u2019Affaires A.I. of the European Union Delegation to Pakistan was chief guest on the occasion.
\nImran Khan Mohmand, Senior Vice President, the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) presented the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa business community at the forum.
\nBesides, stakeholders hailing from tourism, officials of various relevant departments, exporters attached with precious and semi-precious stone sector, small scale-manufacturers, traders, SMEs and others were in attendance in a large number.
\nImran Khan Mohmand while speaking on the occasion hailed the hosting of EU-Pakistan Business Forum 2022 in Peshawar. He said the vast opportunities were available to boost up bilateral trade and exports with EU countries.
\nThe SCCI senior office bearer noted the Pakistani products export to EU market has enhanced after the granting of GSP+ status by EU, in which mostly share of textile and fabric.
\nHowever, he stressed the need of reaping full benefits of GSP + status granted by EU to Pakistan, allowing duty-free access to Pakistan\u2019s manufacturing products to the EU Market that would not only enhance Pakistan\u2019s export but could also strengthen bilateral trade and help to stabilize the local economy.
\nOrganisers on the occasion highlighted the role and efforts of EU-Pakistan Forum towards enhancing exports and bilateral trade between Pakistan and EU, especially benefits of the GSP+ status granted by EU to Pakistan.
\nThomas Seiler, Charge d\u2019Affaires A.I. of the European Union Delegation to Pakistan also spoke on the occasion and asked the small traders and manufacturers to take full benefit from the EU scheme.
\nImran Mohmand stressed that Pakistan should enhance export to the EU market under the scheme by other important sectors along with textile and fabric that would also help to stabilize the local economy as well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
