\nThe Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Tuesday finally approved regularization of all teachers hired on an ad hoc basis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
\nThe decision was taken after a large number of ad hoc teachers from the province staged a continued sit-in outside former Prime Minister Imran Khan\u2019s Bani Gala residence.
\nThe representative of protesting teachers also met the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman who assured them that their demands will be considered on serious grounds and will be met as early as possible.
\nThe protesting teachers held a special meeting with the provincial government committee and presented their five demands including service regularization of all ad hoc teachers.
\nAfter a daylong meeting with teachers\u2019 representatives, the provincial government agreed to accept four demands of the ad hoc teachers.
\nLater on, Chief Minister KP Mehmood Khan also held a special meeting with the representative of ad hoc teachers at Chief Minister House and announced the decision.
\nHe said that all ad hoc teachers\u2019 services would be regularized from their date of appointment, adding that the seniority of permanent teachers would also be maintained from date of appointment. The ad hoc teachers demanded regularization and seniority from the date of appointment which the government assured to approve.
\nIn addition, the demand to end the pay cut for maternity leave for female ad hoc teachers was also accepted by the provincial government.
\nIt is pertinent to mention here that the provincial education department has issued orders of termination of more than 250 ad hoc teachers for protesting outside the Bani-Gala. The government also agreed to withdraw the termination orders of teachers including its president Ata-ur-Rehman.
\nHowever, the provincial government committee set up to negotiate with the protesting teachers on the direction of PTI chairman Imran Khan did not agree over the demand of CP funds termination.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
