While talking to media after the Lahore High Court\u2019s (LHC) acceptance of the PTI\u2019s intra-court appeals against the oath of Hamza Shehbaz as Chief Minister, Attaullah Tarar said that the court did not order for a new election. \u201cThe court has ordered for recounting of votes after excluding the 25 dissident MPAs,\u201d he added. \u201cWe still have 177 votes in the Punjab Assembly. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has 168 votes in the Punjab Assembly. We are ahead with a lead of 9 votes,\u201d he stated. \u201cHamza Shehbaz will remain the chief minister. Only those members, who are present in the House, will be counted. We accept the court verdict. DNA<br \/>\nWe will implement this decision,\u201d he vowed. \u201cThis time those, who resort to mean tactics, will be imprisoned for six months,\u201d he said.<br \/>\n\u201cDemocracy is powerful and will remain so,\u201d he noted. Meanwhile, another PML-N leader Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said Thursday that Hamza Shehbaz was the Chief Minister of Punjab and would remain so.<br \/>\nWhile talking to media after the Lahore High Court\u2019s (LHC) acceptance of the PTI\u2019s intra-court appeals against the oath of Hamza Shehbaz as Chief Minister, Rana Mashhood said if anyone tried to disrupt the recounting process, he would face contempt of court.<br \/>\n\u201cThe Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) deceived the people during four years,\u201d he flayed. \u201cThe PTI still does not understand what to do next,\u201d he added. \u201cIf anyone tries to put pressure in the recounting of votes, the court will take action not the government,\u201d he warned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Attaullah Tarar said Thursday that Hamza Shehbaz would remain the Chief Minister of Punjab, for the PML-N still had the majority with 177 votes in the Punjab Assembly.
