\nThe provincial chairman of Qumai Waten Party (QWP) Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao expressed concern over further increase in prices of petroleum products, calling it an unfair development.
\nHe expressed these views while addressing a public meeting in Peshawar on Friday.
\n\u201cQWP leadership stand with people at every difficult time and rejecting the increase in fuel prices,\u201d he added.
\nIt is pertinent to mention here that the coalition government on Thursday increased the prices of oil by up to Rs18.83 per litre in order to adjust petroleum levy on oil products.
\n The government increased the price of petrol by Rs14.85 per litre, from Rs233.89 to Rs248.74 per litre, high speed diesel by Rs13.23 per litre, from Rs 263.31 to Rs276.54.
\nThe price of kerosene oil has been increased the most, Rs18.83 per litre to Rs230.26 from Rs211.43 per litre.
\nSikandar Sherpao urged the federal government to reverse the decision as early as possible, adding that agreements made by the previous government with IMF created financial problems for people.
\nThe provincial chairman said that people were well aware of difficult times and its causes. He said that one of the major reasons of the ongoing inflation was the deal contracted by the previous government.
\nMr Sherpao lamented the incumbent government continuous hike in oil prices and said that it would directly impact low-income families.
\nHe asked the incumbent government in the centre to adopt austerity measures and take steps to alleviate the plight of the poor.
