\nA seven members representative committee of different walks of life will leave on Saturday (today) for Afghanistan to discuss the issue of import of sheep and lamb via the Torkham border with the Taliban government.
\nAddressing to a press conference the committee members including Syed Muqtader, Malik Masel, Kaleemullah, Murad Hussein, Nisar Afridi and Akhtar Ali said that the main purpose of their visit is to provide an opportunity to the believers in Pakistan to perform the Sunnah of Ibrahimi (animal sacrificial) on reasonable price they will take up the matter of import of the sacrificial animals with Taliban regime and will persuade them to ease their export policy in this regard.
\nThe Pakistan government has not imposed any restriction on the import of sheep through Torkham crossing, therefore the officials have asked the delegation to visit Afghanistan and convince the Taliban to let export of the animal to Pakistan, they remarked.
\nAs the area of Khyber lacks grazing sources therefore it mostly depends on sheep, import from Afghanistan to perform the religious rite of sacrificing on Eidul Adha, they added and said as compare of price of the animal in down towns like Nowshera,the rate of import lamb is reasonable beside paying custom duty on it at Torkham border.
\nThey appeal to the governments of Pakistan Afghanistan to have mercy on them and relax their import and export policies so that the believers in Khyber and other surrounding areas can inexpensively perform their religious practice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
