{"id":271353,"date":"2022-07-15T09:39:55","date_gmt":"2022-07-15T04:39:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=271353"},"modified":"2022-07-15T09:39:55","modified_gmt":"2022-07-15T04:39:55","slug":"pbf-eyes-medals-in-asian-bodybuilding-championship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/pbf-eyes-medals-in-asian-bodybuilding-championship\/","title":{"rendered":"PBF eyes medals in Asian Bodybuilding Championship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> KARACHI<br \/>\nThe Pakistan Bodybuilding Federation (PBF) vowed Thursday to win medals for the country in the 54th Asian Bodybuilding Championship, slated from July 15 to 21 in the Maldives.<br \/>\nPBF\u2019s secretary Sohail Anwar, talking to Geo Super before leaving for the Maldives, said his bodybuilders have worked really hard for the Asian championship during the last six months.<br \/>\n\u201cOur athletes have worked really hard and our aim is to win medals,\u201d the PBF secretary said.<br \/>\n\u201cIt took a lot of time and money to reach this stage. We did open trials and selected bodybuilders on merit. Now, it\u2019s time for them to perform for their country,\u201d he stressed.<br \/>\nAs many as 10 bodybuilders were announced after open trials.<br \/>\nThe list of Pakistani participants includes Mudassar Khan, Farhan Basheer, Anis Hanif, Umar Shahzad, Mohammad Amin, Saeed Faisal, Mohammad Azeem, Syed Fazal, Ilahi, and Shahzad Ahmed Qureshi.<br \/>\nSohail, who remained under criticism for allegedly running a fake federation, said people tried to defame him for personal benefits.<br \/>\n\u201cI have always believed in performance. Our federation is recognised by world federations and we have won medals in multi-nation events. You can go and cross-check it,\u201d he claimed.<br \/>\n\u201cWe don\u2019t want to fight with anyone. Our goal is to serve Pakistan\u2019s bodybuilding and promote athletes. If anyone wants to do the same, let\u2019s work together,\u201d he expressed.<br \/>\n\u201cWe have got NOC for participating in the Asian event.
